Carrie: The Musical

Finally, the legendary Carrie comes to London
Why see Carrie: The Musical?
Carrie finally comes to London!
Bullies and prom-goers beware! The iconic horror novel gets a stage musical makeover in all it's gory glory! Stephen King's terrifying classic was originally made into a musical in 1988 by the Royal Shakespeare Company, but played only in Broadway before closing in what became a notoriously short run. Now it will be staged in London for the very first time at the Southwark Playhouse, we think it's the perfect place for all things creepy!
The lead role goes to Evelyn Hoskins, who starred in the 2009 production of Spring Awakening at the Lyric Hammersmith, which later transferred to the West End, She will also be joined by a host of well-known theatre faces including Olivier nominee Kim Criswell, Jodie Jacobs, Dex Lee and Wicked alumnus Greg Miller Burns.
What is it about?
Carrie White looks like a typical American high school misfit. When she isn't being bullied mercilessly by the popular in-crowd, the rest of her peers treat her as if she is invisible. At home, she's held in thrall to a loving but appallingly over-protective and judgemental mother. Within her, Carrie discovers a terrifying power of telekinesis and when she is finally pushed too far, she proves to everybody just how vengeful she can be. Think Matilda, with horror and gore. You have been warned.
