Casa Valentina

Casa Valentina at Southwark Playhouse

Why see Casa Valentina?

the casa's European Premiere!

Set in the idyllic Catskills mountains in the 1960s, Casa Valentina is a discreet venue for men who enjoy dressing up as women. When the opportunity to become an official organisation arises, Casa Valentina must decide whether this would help gain their clientele a place in society or wreck havoc on their personal lives. Written by four-time Tony winner Harvey Fierstein, this brand-new play gained four Tony nods across the pond and now makes it's European debut at the Southwark Playhouse.

Casa Valentina is a humorous and uplifting play written by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein - the writer of the multi-award winning musical Kinky Boots - about a group of marginalised men trying to find their place in open society.

The play is inspired by the real life Chevalier d'Eon resort, aka Casa Susanna. It is directed by Joe Mantello and stars Tony winner Gabriel Ebert and Mare Winningham amongst its cast members.
