Little Dancer

Little Dancer at Theatre Royal Haymarket

Why see Little Dancer?

The art of Degas comes alive on stage

Inspired by the artwork of Edgar Degas and a young ballerina who posed for one of his most famous sculptures, Little Dancer is coming to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited run, following its much-acclaimed 2025 concert staging.

Susan Stroman directs and choreographs this landmark production, with music and lyrics penned by the Tony-winning team behind the musicals 'Seussical,' 'Rocky' and 'Ragtime', Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty.

What is Little Dancer about?

Telling the story of Marie van Goethem, a young student with the Paris Opera Ballet and ballerina who was immortalised in Degas' sculpture of the same name. This wonderful new musical blends fact and fiction to imagine Marie's life as she navigates the tough backstage world of the Paris Opera Ballet and juggles her newfound fame as a young woman in a man's world.
