West End star Nigel Harman takes a step off the boards and into the director's chair with this double bill of Steven Berkoff plays. Each play a one-act production, your ticket will ensure entry to both works, which explore the complexities of human relationships. One couple are followed from a chance meeting on a park bench throughout 20 years of their ensuing relationship, with both the ties and isolation that coupledom entails.
Helmed by Nigel Harman, who has appeared on stage in shows including a Chorus of Disapproval and a memorable, Olivier Award winning turn as Lord Farquaad in Shrek: The Musical, the critically acclaimed actor has in recent years turned his talents to directing, in particular, the UK touring Shrek, and an upcoming production of The Rabbit Hole.
Of his double-bill Berkoff project, Harman says, "I'm intrigued to put these plays on stage and see how an audience will react. They are a challenge to watch. Some people will laugh and enjoy the theatricality of them. Others may find them uncomfortable in the way they hold a dark mirror up to relationships. One thing's for sure, they don’t pull any punches."
