Music Hall Monster: The Insatiable Mr Fred Barnes

Why see Music Hall Monster: The Insatiable Mr Fred Barnes?
A New Production from Christopher Green
From the heights of wealth to the pits of destitution, so was the life of famed music hall singer, Fred Barnes. After the success of his How Success Ruined Me production for BBC Radio 4, writer, Olivier Award Winner and Wilton Associate, Christopher Green brings you a dark tale of total extremes and real-life horror.
From the streets of Birmingham to the biggest Music Halls in London, to the dingy pubs of Southend, Fred Barnes was a smooth crooner of old but his erratic private life regularly saw the star dragged through the press. At the height of his fame in the 1920s Barnes was often spotted with a marmoset sat upon his shoulder, however a mere ten years later the singer was singing for pennies with nothing by a chicken for company.
In this cleverly crafted play Christopher Green will step onto the stage to take on the role of Barnes himself.
