Thelma & Louise

Thelma & Louise at Young Vic

Why see Thelma & Louise?

World Premiere

Callie Khouri's timeless feminist cinema classic gets its world premiere as a stage musical at the Young Vic! Adapted by Khouri herself over three decades after the release of the Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning film, Thelma & Louise features music and lyrics by acclaimed singer-songwriter Neko Case, with Amy Lennox (Cabaret) playing Thelma and Rachel Tucker (Wicked) in the role of Louise. With the original having been directed by cinematic heavyweight Ridley Scott, director Trip Cullman takes on the baton for this stage production of a story seen as a landmark in feminist film.

What's The Story?

On an impulse, Louise decides to go on a weekend road trip and invites best pal Thelma along for the ride. But when they stop at a bar on the roadside, an attempted assault on Thelma turns the trip into something entirely different; a daring adventure on the run from the law, with their friendship and sisterhood turned into an unbreakable bond with the world against them. With the original film named in the American Film Institute's 'Most Inspiring Films of All Time', this stage musical adaptation is set to leave you exhilarated and energised all over again.
