ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN
I was a little apprehensive about their being a sequel created, but the snippets that I heard in advance were excellent, so I went with an open mind. And the show blew me away. Ramin especially was fantastic. I came out personally remembering almost all of the melodies - certainly the main themes. I can't really understand how anyone could forget them! I had also pre ordered a CD in advance and have actually listened to it several times through since getting home. Some reviews here confuse me. There was no rape, didn't you listen to the words?! People change over 10 years too. I have to admit the last scene was a little on the long side but really that and some of the ridiculous rants posted online about the show are the only not so good things about it. I would highly recommend this show to visitors of all ages, whether they have seen the original or not. Well done, Andrew!

LOVE NEVER DIES WAS BRILLIANT!
This show is one of the best musicals I have seen! The cast, music, and set were all fantastic and more than met my expectations. Don't believe the negative reviews, this is a must see show. Just remember your tissues!

MESMERISED !!
Went to see Love Never Dies last Saturday. Was concerned because of the bad reviews but need not have worried. It enthralled and mesmerised me and I adored it. The music was great as was the staging. I have to say I fell in love with the Phantom. Ramons portayal was superb and a gorgeous voice too. Sierra was beautiful with the voice of an angel. Summer played the role of Meg Giry so well. Would I recommend it? Hell yes. Would I see it again? In a heartbeat. Now have the album to remind me of this wonderful show. Don't compare it to Phantom, go and enjoy it as it is....A tragic love story.

STUNNING
Saw Love Never Dies 20th March and thought the show was genius. The performances were outstanding, especiallt Sierra Boggess, and the centre piece aria of the whole show was one of the best pieces of musical theatre you will see on stage anywhere. Of course its different from Phantom but its a masterpiece in its own right. Well done to all concerned.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FROM ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER
I was visiting a friend for 2 weeks and she managed to get tickets for the night before the opening. I saw Pnantom in Tampa, and loved it and I cannot wait for my family and friends to see this show. I felt that the music of Coney Island was a well placed change from Phantom and the stars were excellent. It was very well performed and lots of special effects that made it memorable and entertaining.

THRILLING EVENING AT THE THEATRE
I suppose it is possible that I am living in a parallel reality with others who have seen Love Never Dies, but I doubt it. One of the most thrilling theatrical experiences ever. Don't miss it!! I immediately bought the sound track. I plan to see it as many times as possible. And I'm not even a Phan!!!

AMAZING SHOW!
My wife and I had the opportunity to be in London opening week of Love Never Dies. I must say that it was wonderful. Perfect? No. But this is a show you must not miss. The special effects, score, performances, well it's ALW at his best. I really believe that it will be an iconic sequel.

Get the music first listen to it a few times before you make your mind up, You wont be able to stop humming the tunes I guarantee it.Then enjoy the show knowing its full of rich singing and orchestral Class.Well done Andrew you have done it again Brilliant.

FANTASTIC
My wife an I went to see this last Saturday (28th Aug). We were a little apprehensive after falling in love with the original phantom. There was no need because we felt it was every bit as good. Be prepared for tears towards the end. Brilliant experience and i would thoroughly recommend this. Scott & Kim (Rossendale)

THE PLEASURE OF MUSICALS
My wife and I went to see Love Never Dies having seen Ramin in Phantom, and wondered how this could come close to the original. Although the story can't possibly have the depth of the original, everything else, the cast, the music, the performances were absolutely 5 star. We have now seen it 4 times, and each time the performers seem to give it their very best. Sierra Boggess is beautiful, and has that magical voice; Summer is outstanding as Meg. Go see the show. You will want to see it again. Brian O.

PURE GENIUS AGAIN
Been to see the reworked Love Never Dies, What was wrong with the first one???????However, again I cried and pure magic, how does he do it??? words fail me, spell binding, awesome, I am on such a high,Phantom is still my top show but this is SO close, my husband enjoyed the revamped version and thought this Christine was better than the original, looks like I will have to buy another Album of this version.Well done again Mr Webber, love the Wizard of OZ as well, keep healthy and keep them comming.

A MISUNDERSTOOD WEBBER MASTERPIECE
Having rushed to see this production in its final days, it is incredibly sad to see a truly remarkable fresh and vibrant production sink under the pressure of its predecessor. Let's be honest, it was never going to excel The Phantom of the Opera, a comparison that blinds its critics and die-hard fans alike to all that is in fact good. Admittedly the alterations to the musical from the original score have made the score far more powerful and the music far more memorable, which was a significant complaint in its infancy, but all in all the production stands tall as one of the best on the West End circuit. This finale cast are all absolutely outstanding and at the final curtain it was clear that their performance had truly touched the all-standing audience. It is a tragedy that this show could not continue to receive the acclaim I believe it truly deserves. See it while you still can and see for yourselves how Mr Webber has come up with yet another musical masterpiece!

A SAD STORY
I saw love never dies in february and i was very surprised by the show, although i thing it s the best for following after the phantom, the story went on and for me Andrew made it real y wonderful and great! The music was perfect, also al. the cast was wonderful Yes, this was a sad story for all the admirers of the phantom. I know it os not a happy story, but the caracters were developed and 10years after the story of the phantom. Christine and Rapulplayed there part excellent and also the fighting and struggling from Raoul and the phantom was very impressive! Also Meg amd her daughter! Mahler and pucini could have written it! My very compliments to ALW! Hope to see Stephen Ward soon in Londen...

WILL WANT TO HEAR THEM SING ONCE MORE AND MORE.....
Went to see the show with the view that we were watching a new show and did not want to compare it the Phantom, as I don't think any follow up can beat that. If you go to watch this with a view that you are going to compare Love never dies to Phantom, Phantom will always win... it's the orginal masterpiece. But what a show this was, we loved it, so don't know what these other reviewers were watching. Felt goosebumps, was on edge of seat wondering "would she sing"?, loved the sets, especially the beginning sequences. We remembered the songs, "Love never dies" and Til I hear you sing... absolutely powerful, can't get them out of my head... subsequently ordered the CD. Will book to see this again.

CRITICS OVER CRITICAL
Saw the show last night. We were a bit concerned by the mixed reviews but actually thoroughly enjoyed the show. Wonderful singing, splendid scenery, some great costumes and very special lighting and projection special effects. Ignore the downers and go an have a very enjoyable night out. Yes a bit fanciful but very enjoyable. We especially liked the automaton gorilla's musical offering. One of the better shows we have been to with a long standing ovation from the appreciative audience.

GREAT SHOW!!!!!
I really can't imagine anyone not loving the show. The only reason that it's not a 5 star for me is the ending. Also, I wanted the book to give us more of the delightfully ghoulish mutants. I'll certainly see it again. Congratualations to all in the London show. Well done.

ONE OF THE BEST SHOW IN THE WEST END AT THE MOMENT
We saw love never dies on Monday and it was truly unforgetable. The cast was faultless and the storyline amzing, the music was one of Andrew Lloyd webber's best work and the next morning you will be humming the song love never dies. Overall this musical is well worth the ticket.

MUSIC MAKES IT
Fantastic musical and a couple of songs stand out and you cant get them out your head.most people are just tone deaf or dont have a clue about musical theatre.yes the plot is weak but the music makes it.most of negative reviews are from people who dont appreciate a good melody or have no emotion in them

THIS LOVE NEVER DIES AND NOT PHANTOM
I took my grand daughter aged 8 to see this musical and she was 80% rapt. I loved it. I had read the mixed reviews but went with an open mind. Andrew L.W. himself said that we should not compare the 2 shows. We have to remember that this story is set 10 years later, in another country and in a completely different setting. The Phantom was still obssessed, Christine was still unsure of who she wanted, Raoul always was a "weak" character, Meg had grown up and thought that she was the STAR, the boy was a bonus and completed the circle It is a different show - just go and enjoy it - I do think that the music will grow on you, remember we have had over 20 years of the music from PotO - open up your mind - let your spirits start to soar and you will enjoy - just dont compare.

GREAT SHOW
Having seen "Phantom..." I was keen to see the sequel. I won't pretend it is the best musical I have ever seen, but my daughter and I had a great time. Some of the singing was fantastic, the effects brilliant and the circus scenes captivating. I was sad that the actor who played Gustave in the first half was changed in the second half....why? The first actor did not even come on for a well-deserved applause at the end. The show started 15 minutes late and our seats in row C were too low to see all the important action at the end. Otherwise, I would have given this a 5.

VERY ENJOYABLE
Having not seen The Phantom of the Opera and also reading some reviews I was a bit concerned whether we had booked the right show to celebrate our anniversary. We were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed it and managed to understand the love story fairly easilly. The acting, costumes, singing, scenery, special effects etc were amazing. A wonderful evening and would recommend it.

DID NOT GRIP ME TO MY SEAT
I saw the preview of Lover Never Dies on Saturday 27th February 2.30 p.m. I enjoyed the show the singing from The Phantom and Christine was outstanding but after so much hype I was expecting something special from Mr Lloyd Webber I had a problem with the weak story line, I cant believe that this script took so long to write and felt a little let down. Is Mr Lloyd Webber loosing his magic touch? I hope not as I am one of his biggest fans.

NOT A GOOD THEATER FOR THE SHOW
Half of the stall seats without a complete view of the stage is something I experienced for the first time. Squeeking floors under new carpeting did not help either. The show was ok, singers did a beautiful performance, but somehow it was a disappointment. It is a dangerous and very demanding task to meet the expectations after Phantom. I fear there will be a phantom 3 after 10 years- the story of Gustav. I wish the show was in a theater with a better view of the stage. Anckles of achrobats and no view of the balloon plus the title picture seen only up to the nose are bad planning and need to be changed.

DID THE JOB
I saw Love Never Dies yesterday with my wife after reading some very poor reviews. I love the original Phantom show, but went with an open mind. I can see what reviewers are saying - about plotline being contrived, etc, but we both enjoyed the show - it didn't change my life, but there is some lovely music in there - especially 'Til I Hear You Sing. To me if I'm honest it felt like a small show made into something almost too big for it - it doesn't perhaps have as much inventiveness musically as some of ALW's past productions, and is actually quite an intimate story - the fact that it was the Phantom and Christine had very little to do with the piece - it could have been anyone. But I enjoyed it, my wife loved it (and she's not a great fan of musicals) and I can't blame ALW for wanting to return to the scene of one of his greatest triumphs. Does it have the impact of Phantom? No - but what could? It should be taken on it's own merits. I have no doubt however that many will not do so.
Andy from London, UK
FUN BUT NOT GREAT
Good fun, great performances, amazing sets, good atmosphere - but the story weakens in the second act into a poor conclusion and the tunes just aren't nearly as memorable or exciting as Lloyd Webber's 80s fare.
Carol from London & Houston
PHANTOM IS A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW
Love Never Dies is not as good as Phantom of The Opera. We felt the story wasn't bad, Ramins singing excellent, some of the special effects(projections?) very good and enjoyed Megs dance/costume change routine but the songs were not memorable and we left the theatre not remembering any of them which was unusual for a Lloyd Webber production. The whole show felt unfinished with the final scene very disappointing. Phantom of The Opera was always going to be a hard act to follow(consider the boat scene, the candelabra crashing etc) but I think people expected more than the show that has opened here.
Rod james from Epsom, Surrey, England
FREEZING
The Show was quite good, not up to the original, or Lez Miz standard, but was spolit for us by the fact that they had air-con on, even though the outside temperatue was well below 60F we kept our coats on, but were still shivering, everyone had their coats on, and several people were complaining. Considering we paid nearly £70 each, it was a farce, and spolit the whole thing. If we were in a local cinema, we would have walked out.

LOVE NEVER DIES FIRST NIGHT PREVIEW
A much anticipated performance; being a dedicated fan of all things Andrew Lloyd Webber this was a one off chance to be one of the first people to see the sequel to The Phantom. Having been disappointed that the Saturday night performance was cancelled I was lucky enough to have tickets for the Monday evening as well. Delighted to see 'The Lord' in person and quite excited that he stopped the show after the first 10 minutes; obviously he wasn't happy about something but the audience wouldn't have known there was anything amiss. The show continued, the music was superbe and in general the performance of the cast was good, high praise to Ramin, Summer and 'Gustav' for the 1st rate delivery. Sadly the lyrics were sub standard and as much as I wanted and willed the show to be as good as previous productions this does not live up to 'The Phantom'. On a final note, strange that the title song is taken from "The Beautiful Game", another, Webber/Elton production.
Angela from LA,USA
WHERE ARE THE BEAUTIFUL MELODIES?
I have to say, sadly, that Love Never Dies pales in comparison to Phantom of the Opera. If it ever was trying to reach up to its predecessor, it is let down by various important factors that make a musical 'tick'. I was kinda anticipating the new music that Andrew Lloyd Webber would bring to the stage, and being a phanatic phantom fan, I have been loving Phantom music all the time, it's my fav musical. But where are the melodies in LND?? I can't remember any song memorable enough to stick in my mind..in phantom, i can easily recall the many beautiful and haunting songs, like Music of the Night, Think of Me, Wishing you were somehow here again, masquerade..and the title song, The Phantom of the Opera--who can forget its signature opening for an overture? But for LND, the music is choppy,no melodies are as beautiful, there are strings of conversations that should have been replaced by music instead..then the music sounds like it's meant for "clubs"--too fanciful, not so sad n romantic

THE AUDIENCE RUINED IT
We went with friends from the US. The production was very good, the story line was bizarre, but that didn't matter since the singing was very good. Which means that we would have loved it if it wasn't for the fact that the audience ruined it for us - yelling after every song, stopping the production half way through the second half with a standing yelling session. This was supposed to be a night out with friends in the West End, not a visit to X factor.

NOT A PATCH ON THE ORIGINAL
It is ok...if you are a fan of such musical theatre. I am however this tale is slow, less specatucular and has a truly preposterous story. Wait till you hear about the child!

UNMET EXPECTATIONS
Being a fan of the Phantom I was really eager to see the musical. I never thought I would get so disappointed;I left the theatre without remembering a single melody.

'TIS BETTER TO TRAVEL HOPEFULLY
We booked before Xmas, and 10 of us went in eager anticipation to see the sequel to the amazing Phantom, and oh how the mighty have fallen. I haven't been so disappointed since the last England penalty shoot out. Grotesque attempts at dreamlike imagery (a wag in our group noticed Katie Price's Wedding carriage, and was in fits of helpless laughter throughout, while another slept through the second half). A few good songs, the saving grace beeing the singing of the Christine, but otherwise, i can't see this lasting 10 years.
Anon from London
WHAT A LET DOWN
I was really excited to be seeing LND and hoping for great things. The sets were good, but nothing else impressed me. There were no memorable songs. The orchestra was too loud for us to hear some of the singing which was a great shame. The second half was better than the first, but overall I couldn't tell people to go and see it. I would see Phantom many times, but not LND.
Red from UK
SOME GREAT EFFECTS AND PERFORMANCES
This is, at the very least, one hell of a spectacle. The staging itself is amazing, drawing the audience in to the mood of the piece with dazzling effects; some of the best I've ever seen in the West End. The performances themselves were all strong, special mentions being Christine, who sang with pitch perfect, hair raising zeal and breathed a delicate, conflicted life into Mrs Daae. She was complimented beautifully by her "son." This young boy sang with great character and spirit, and was a joy to watch. Everyone was great, working with the less then solid material. Now things get icky. The storyline is botched. It is weak, fails to compute at all with the characters and scenrios wonderfully fleshed out in the original. The characterisations will send fans into tears; Phantom loses his mystery, brave Raoul is a bullying drunk, Meg Giry a likable yet weirdly stiched character, and Mme Giry a witch. The songs were unmemorable. ALW tried very hard, but the score and story falls flat.
Richard Miller from Bedfordshire
DISAPOINTING IN LOTS OF PLACES
Went to see the production with my Wife, i havent seen Phantom, but my Wife is a huge fan! so was expecting something superb!, What we got was actually disappointing, i found the show to be repetitive in terms of songs, sounded like we had heard the songs before earlier in the show, to much singing, and not enough acting and am almost ashamed to say found the show quite boring. Having said that, Christine's Solo singing Love Never Dies is one of the best solo's i have ever seen, The phantom was a great singer, and the 2 obviously have great chemistry together. In my personal opinion i think the 4 person standing ovation out of 300 on the middle deck of the theatre sums it up really.
Simon Leak from Twickenham
TUESDAY PREVIEW - LOVE NEVER DIES
A thorough disappointment. The only redeeming features were some excellent special effects and scenery with the Phantom coming into his stride in good voice...but he had nothing to work with. The songs are entirely unmemorable, the story-line poor, weak script and some very basic lyrics. The final scene was just like a very bad am-dram production: I almost wanted to laugh rather than cry. As I left my seat I thought of a new title for the show, being 'Corny Coney'. Come on, M'Lord - remember how brilliant Evita and the original Phantom were.
Lynn from London, UK
TRULY UNMEMORABLE
I left without remembering even one melody/tune...my first and I've seen many musicals (good and bad). If the music was a disappointment, the plot took a direction that was almost cruel for Phantom fans. Can't recommend it when I very much wish I never saw it.
Joan Greening from North London, Middx
INCOMPREHENSIBLE STORY
I saw the show on 5th March and my daughter and I were bitterly disappointed. I had bought the tickets as a special Christmas present for her. We thought the music was dull and unmemorable and the storyline was ridiculous. Could someone explain to me how a cold blooded murderer who probably wasn't human turned into a perfectly reasonable human being? The ending made me laugh out loud. It must be one of the longest death scenes in theatrical history. Would you leave your only son to a murderer who presumably raped you at some point? When? Another complete puzzle. On a positive note I quite liked the art nouveau scenery in the first half but they seem to have run out of scenery for the second half! Phantom of the Opera is my favourite musical. Love Never Dies is my least favourite.
Denise from WI
A DISAPPOINTMENT
I find that there are many things lacking in this musical. No song connects with me,they are unmemorable and the melodies are not as nice as phantom's. The plot is kinda cheesy-Raoul turns out to be a cad, Meg is jealous and evil.Christine's character turns weak and indecisive, and phantom is the ultimate sane guy.Not to mention the many instances of fanciful chicago-style music and lyrics; not much feel of gothic romance and tragedy in the first. The only thing comforting is probably the setting aka props and production design.
Susie from u.k
TURKEY WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS!
This sequel is absolutely dire and falls flat on its expensive face. All the characters, with the possible exception of Christine, have been altered to the point where they are no longer recognisable from the original show. Raoul is an abusive alchoholic, Madame Giry is doing a Mrs Danvers impression, Meg is a jealous whore who is now romatically fixated on the Phantom, and the Phantom himself has been stripped of every quality which made him interesting in the first place. The show drags intermiably, with tuneless, discordant ditties and the occasional half decent song, which is nonetheless invariably ruined by dreadful lyrics and a complete inabilty on the behalf of the composer to know that less is more. Boring and unintentionally laughable in places, particularly the supposedly tragic ending which is so long drawn out at almost needs an interval of its own. Very disappointing!
Corey from UK
A DISASTER BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION OR WEBBER'S HATRED
If you would like to see a show which is dull, has awful story, has awful lyrics, so-so score, then this is your champion! The sets are nothing special, in fact they are overdone, video projections are no big news and quite ordinary, the characters are ruined and just nasty all together. Clearly Webber hated Christine and Phantom very much since he killed one character and made an idiot out of another. Pure shame, not a musical.
