Why See Tina - The Tina Turner Musical?
Better than all the rest
Nominated for Best New Musical at 2019's Olivier Awards!
Biographical musicals are all the rage both on Broadway and in the West End. With the latest to join the glitz of the stage being this phenomenal extravaganza based on the life of iconic songstress Tina Turner, with Mamma Mia and The Iron Lady director Phyllida Lloyd at the helm, and a book by Katori Hall, with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins.
Tony-nominated (and now 2019 Olivier award nominated) power-house Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along, Bring It On and Dream Girls), is magnetic as Turner, delivering those iconic vocals and dazzling choreography with blazing integrity and likability that'll have your pulse racing from the opening notes.
From Nutbush to the world
Tina Turner's turbulent career is the stuff of music legend, with her iconic songs often masking the dramatic goings-on behind the scenes. Her inspiring story was first told in the 1993 made-for-TV movie What's Love Got to Do with It, which followed her rise to fame, and her struggle to break free from her abusive husband and manager Ike Turner. Following an incredible comeback in the early '80s, Tina is now considered to be one of the best-selling artists of all time - and the reigning Queen of Rock 'n' Roll. She has garnered 11 Grammy Awards and three Grammy Hall of Fame awards, plus a legion of fans the world over.
