TOP HAT TOP SHOW

saw the Norwich show and was so impressed booked for tonight at the aldwich and man was I impressed. A very well polished production, slightly upgraded from the earlier one in Norwich and very much for the better. Tom Chambers has made this his own show. he is very much the star!! all the cast especially the leads are great, but it's very much Toms night to shine with song, a very unique style , and magnificent dance routines .Can only recommend it to anyone who loves song and dance.Tap danced my way to the taxi!!!

SPIFFING

Saw this in Bristol and what a show! Fantastic.......the singing, dancing and setting were out of this world, the two stars superb and the supporting stars excellentf. It was funny, much funnier than I expected and I've already bought tickets to see it again in London - that speaks for itself!

A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW BUT THEY HAVE DONE IT!

Always a fan of Fred and Ginger, a hard act to follow, but the stars in the show were magnificent! It was a gorgeous show, the set very cleverly transformed and at all times elegant. The dance numbers joyful and thrilling, will definitely go and see this show again, and again and again! Watch out for the valet and the Italian great laughs!

WONDERFUL

I first saw this production in Canterbury last year and went along to take my daughter this time. It was if anything even better than I remember from last year. Tom Chambers dancing was far more exciting this time and the whole show seemed far more amusing. We were way up at the back of the theatre and I thought oh no, but we could see and hear everything so well. An absolutely wonderful show from start to finish

TOP HAT,WHITE TIE AND DANCE

Being a life long admirer of Fred and Ginger I was a little worried that my expectations and love of the movie might get in the way of this production.However I was mistaken.This show was amazing and utterly enjoyable.The choreography was superb as was the dancing and the 2 main leads, Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen complemented each other perfectly.Mention must be made also of the other main characters of Madge Hardwick and her Husband and the dress designer Bertolini.Their parts were played brilliantly by their respective actors and their obvious enjoyment in playing their parts transfered to the audience making the whole experience wonderful.The sets and costumes were beautiful.I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable nights out at the theatre I've ever had and I would recommend this production to anyone as it's suitable to any age group.Congratulations to everyone connected with this show.

This wonderful show had me smiling from the second the overture started until.. well, actually every time I think about it I still smile! Excellent choreography with brilliant dancers - the tap sequences in particular were just superb. Its a pity the stage was a bit small for some of the large chorus numbers to show off to best advantage, but the whole show was just brilliant. Don't miss it - we're planning to go again!

AN UNMISSABLE EVENING

Being a massive fan of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers I’ll freely admit I was rather sceptical about whether I was going to enjoy seeing Top Hat on Stage, I could say even if it’ll never quite live up to my beloved Fred and Ginger I have become rather fond of it. Top Hat on Stage is a whirl of sophistication, fabulous dancing and a whole host of Irving Berlin songs. The choreography is sublime and while my favourite choreography from the movie did not make it into the stage version, what replaces it is a pleasure to watch. Parts of the show that stood out for me were Chambers own choreographed dance with the Hat Stand ‘Hattie’, ‘Wild about You’ sung by Strallen to Chambers the fabulous ‘Outside of That I Love You’ performed by Ball and Parry. The essence and magic of the 1935 film is perfectly captured by all of the ensemble who are one of the best I have ever seen along with the fabulous leads. Top Hat at the Aldwych should be on everyone's calender and truly deserves to run and run!

BRILLIANT

This was the first show that myself and my partner has been too, and i have to say that i was really impressed with everything about the show. At first i thought that i may not like it, but HOW wrong was i, i thoughly enjoyed it and i would definately go and watch it again, this time with more people, as they can jusge for thereselves. So overall i would definately recomend this show to anyone as i was surprised, but enjoyed it immensely

JUST A GORGEOUS PRODUCTION THAT LEAVES YOU FEELING GREAT!

I saw this show in April and was BLOWN AWAY. Kristen is beautiful and has the sweet sass of Ginger Rogers down perfectly. Gavin is an outstanding dancer and incredibly charming! The whole cast, actually, was just perfection. I NEVER give reviews to shows (at age 15, I've seen 14 shows on Broadway, 4 shows on the WE, and several touring shows and local productions...) but I couldn't resist. If you have the chance to see it, please do! You won't regret it. I sat in the last row of the second balcony and still had the time of my life. The choreography was classic, the cast was brilliant, the costumes were dazzling. Diolch, Aldwych! Llawer o gariad.

LOVELY WAY TO SPEND AN EVENING IN LONDON

The show was way better than I had imagined it would be; all the dancing was superb, and the costumes were so elegant and in tune with the 1930's. It was from my mother's era, and yes, I would have loved to have been able to take her. Seats and view were great too. I smiled the whole way through, even with the somewhat corny jokes, which probably were typical of the time.

My sister booked a weekend break to see the show as my 60th birthday present what a great weekend and fantastic show! The stage scenery,costumes wonderful songs &dancing the entire cast put their heart &soul into every scene.The show is something to take the whole family to see although if taking children & having grandchildren myself I wouldn't recommend taking children under eleven to see it. Bravo to the entire cast & production team !!.

WONDERFUL EVENING

You are lucky indeed if you haven't seen this yet... You have a wonderful evening to look forward to! The show is pure magic. Apart from the superb dancing and singing the dialogue is witty and well timed comedy abounds. I couldn't have enjoyed it more! I might even go and see it again...

THE BEST MUSICAL IN LONDON

Top Hat is a fantastic musical.Fred and Ginger came to life again. The Art Deco sets were beautiful; the costumes, sumptuous; the dancing was divine; the music was wonderful as were the songs. The two lead singer/dancers and the back supporting cast were brilliant. Its well worth seeing and I would highly recommend the musical.

Me and friend saw the evening show of Top Hat on the 02/ 10/13 and it was absolutely fantastic. The costumes were surperb as was the singing and dancing. Highly recommended!

TOP HAT - BRILLIANT

We enjoyed every moment of Top Hat. The casting, the scenery, the music, the directing,production, the costumes- all were absolutely first class, perfect,wonderful, and our seats were excellent. We are still singing the songs and dancing in our heads. Have no hesitation in recommending this excellent Show to others who want to relax and enjoy their evening, or matinee. We arrived for our rare weekend in London with tickets for another Show only to read that everyone who had reviewed it, had found it to be the most boring, awful, disappointing Show they'd ever seen. It was snowing, the wind was icy, and our mood was low. We tried for Top Hat and collected our tickets after enjoying a pre-performance supper. We forfeited the cost of the other seats but it was a sacrifice worth making.

WHY THE FAKE AMERICAN ACCENTS?

Sets, costumes, choreography and songs were wonderful. The fairly corny story was ok but let down by the main leads not having the charm and grace of Fred and Ginger in the original film. The supporting actors were better than the stars. There was no internal imperative for the American accents apart from the original film having American actors and the stars did them badly. And why the nasal pop style note bending? Compare with the purity of tone of Jazz Greats like Ella, Sarah and Astaire himself. Seats uncomfortable but to be expected in an old theatre. Post theatre supper at The Delauncey is not worth the effort. Suitable for anyone.
