The Times
A new drama by up and coming playwright Barney Norris, Nightfall is a bruising family drama set on a farm in Winchester. Laurie Sansom, fresh from the National Theatre Of Scotland, leads this new work, which is set on a family farm outside Winchester. Dealing with her husband's recent passing, the formidable matriarch is struggling to keep everything afloat; something that is not made any easier when her daughter's boyfriend turns up uninvited, recently flush with cash, and determined to make money off the farm's land.
Barney Norris' other works includes the hit drama Visitors that first premiered in 2014 to critical acclaim, starring Linda Bassett and Robin Soans. A devastatingly beautiful and touching love story that examines how life can slip us by, we see this dilemma of love set in Salisbury Plain farmhouse where a family is struggling to survive.
