Shen Yun Reviews

SPECTACULAR
Despite all those negative reviews I thoroughly enjoyed the show and so did all the audience in the Hammersmith Apollo theatre. The CGI added to the stage scenarios and the costumes and music was of a very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend.

DISAPPOINTED
Had looked forward to seeing the show after reading reviews of other performances and was very disappointed. The costumes were beautiful, the scenery well done and the cast excellent, it was the choreography and the overall content of the show that disappointed. I was not the only one as others said the same during the interval. I had an excellent seat and a good view and am glad I went to see it but would not recommend it. It is certainly a show that all ages could go to see but prepared to be bored at times.

DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST
I saw this show last night and was left feeling cheated. Where was the spectacular spectacle I was expecting. I nearly left in the interval but thought the second half must contain some better entertainment. Sadly nothing changed. The political message was disturbing too. A very expensive night out for a boring mind numbing show.

STUNNING START FOLLOWED BY PROPAGANDA
The other reviews say it all. Initially beautiful but then the choreography became very repetitive and uninspired. The worst aspect of the show was the blatant Falang Gong propaganda. The pre show information was extremely misleading. The 2 singers were dreadful. Innovative use of enormous back projection screen. If you’re looking for an insight into Chinese culture prepare to have your horizons limited. In terms of the Google world, I suspect there’s some biasing taking place??

AMAZING COSTUMES AND DANCE BUT THAT WAS ABOUT IT!
2 ** was for the costumes! This was a Xmas present from my partner as he thought I would really enjoy it having grown up in Hong Kong. Well couldn't have been more wrong! The costumes were stunning and the choreography was very good (male dancers pretty boring) but I was expecting something out of this world, Cirque du Soleil standards but no. With the 2 commentators, it was like watching the Eurovision Song Contest and the next act is ...... completely rubbish. We left at the interval as did another couple in front of us. . It is definitely something I wouldn't take a child to see either. Don't waste your money - an expensive evening which could have rather be spent elsewhere!!

REPETITIVE
Saw the show in Woking:) which is not local for me:) so i was not just bored but had a 2 hour drive back home afterwards!! The Ladies troop were much better than the guys who in turn were better than the singers!!! The ladies costumes were beautiful & the best dance routine 4 me was the ladies lantern one. The orchestra were good but the 2 announcers just irritated me as they introduced b4 each short 5/6 mins routine what it was about:) laborious to say the least:) £85 matinee is what I paid & they were the cheap seats!! All in all not a day i would wish to repeat

SO DISAPPOINTED
Dancing lovely as were costumes, but the narration was TERRIBLE, . it was like an amateur production, and as for the 2 singers, they were cringeworthy. Very badly put together. I travelled 300 miles to see this and was very disappointed. They have given themselves a bad name this year.
