OVERSOLD AND UNDERWHELMED
I would not reccomend this performance, I must give credit to the advertising campaign for doing such a great job at miss leading people. There were some positives, the costumes were creative, unique and at times very beautiful to observe. Some of the choreography was well rehearsed and impressive to watch. The orchestra certainly added to the performances and made for a nice backdrop. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. This performance was riddled with political agenda against communist China, childish slapstick comedy, and blatant promotion of Fulun. The fluency of the performance was completely lost with the addition of two hosts, which while sometimes necessary to understand the piece, were in equal parts annoying and overused. The CGI backdrop was an awful decision, think 2000s video game graphics, completely ruined the idea of a professional performance. Even the choreography became repetitive and unimaginative Overpriced! Save your money and miss this one.

THE LONGEST, MOST EXPENSIVE AND BORING EVENING OF MY LIFE
Lulled in by the promise of lost traditional Chinese art and a slick marketing brochure of unashamedly extravagant claims, I was expecting something pretty special. It was nothing of the sort - no creativity or imagination in a show which tours annually with supposedly a brand- new program every year. Although one of the presenters said at the end that "f you've seen it once you haven't seen it all", that was exactly how we felt after this tiresome evening. The pieces are so similar, so similarly produced that one was indistinguishable from the next. We couldn't wait for the evening to end it was so bad. Search out the few reviews online before you consider going and don't waste your money. It should be illegal to market it in the way they do under the Trade Descriptions Act - misleading customers as to what they are spending their money on.

SHEN YEN
Saw show this evening, great mix of costume and wonderful orchestra. However before each piece/act there is a little commentary which made show boring hence story line could not be followed. Tickets were really pricey so would not recommend if you don't like lots of speech.. The gimmicks too were a bit too much. Some scenes were like you were watching Nintendo game. I won't be seeing again.

BORING
Repetitive. More regimented than skilled or artistic. The first 20 minutes were lovely, but it never got better. We left at intermission.

UNDERWHELMED
The web trailers show quite impressive glimpses of some dancing, but unfortunately this is about the best you will see. The rest is pretty mundane, and in my view, not worth the time or the very high ticket price.

SO DISAPPOINTED.
I saw this show at Woking 2 nights ago. Whilst there are some impressive skills there is no way that anyone could seriously describe this show as life changing. My partner paid £150 for 2 mid priced tickets as a surprise treat for me as I had been well and truly taken in by the mass advertising campaign. Believe me this show is not worth the ticket price. Having seen the show I am dumbfounded by the responses given in post show interviews shown in the advertising. I do understand though that when promoters put a camera on, and microphone in front of people exiting the show people are more likely to say nice things and some of them will go over the top with compliments. All I can advise is that anyone contemplating booking for this show should do your own research first. If you have seen trailers for the show then you have seen the best part of it. Such a shame as I was sat in the audience willing it to get better than is ultimately was. Sadly, very disappointed and just trying to save people money.

SO BAD WE LAUGHED
Imagine a Scientology dancing group choreographed by a 6 year and you get the scene. Actually that's not fair to a 6 year old. It was endlessly repetative, unimaginative and at times violent. The backdrop graphics were comical and the tidle wave washing away the nasty chinesse government at the end left me speechless. Go and see..... it's not often you get the opportunity to experienced something so bad. The out of tune Tenor was the highlight though.
