Why See Oliver!?
A Sensational New Staging!
Cameron Mackintosh brings the mean streets of Victorian London to life in this staging of Lionel Bart's theatrical classic, with all-new choreography and direction from Matthew Bourne!
The timeless tale of an orphan boy who dared to ask for more, Oliver! is a jubilant experience, packed with some of the most iconic characters to ever grace the stage, from the wily trickster Fagin to the audacious pickpocket The Artful Dodger. Lionel Bart's legendary score is one standard after another, from Food, Glorious Food to I'd Do Anything and Consider Yourself.
The musical version of Dickens' 1838 novel first premiered in 1960 at the New Theatre (now the Noel Coward). With music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, the show was an instant hit and was just as well received when it opened on Broadway three years later, securing three Tony Awards.
