Wartime romance plucks the heartstrings again

After stunning on a UK tour, this highly-acclaimed new staging of Louis de Bernieres's best-selling romance transfers to the Harold Pinter for a limited season this summer. A sweeping epic set in WWII Greece, it follows the passions of the titular Captain Corelli, an Italian officer posted on to Cephalonia and the resulting, life-changing, love he finds with local girl Pelagia.
Lush, lyrical and evocative, the story is brought to life by a cast of 15 actors, under the direction of Melly Still and writer Runa Munro. From the vibrant life of the villagers to the oncoming threat of War, Captain Corelli's Mandolin is a life-affirming tale that takes you on an adventure that'll stick with you long after you leave the theatre.
