Why See London Eye Flights?
17 years Old This Year
Opened in 2000 to celebrate the Millennium, The London Eye is a true London landmark and a symbol of modern Britain. Designed by architect husband and wife team David Marks and Julia Barfield, this massive Ferris wheel stands at an impressive 135 metres, and is the city's second highest public viewing observation point behind the Shard. Rotating at about 26cm per second, a full rotation takes a languid 30 minutes, allowing you to really soak in the spectacular views. It's no surprise that it's London's most visited paid attraction, welcoming over 3.5 million visitors a year!
The London Eye has had many sponsors during its lifetime. It's current full title is The Coca-Cola London Eye, but it's also been named British Airways London Eye, the Merlin Entertainments London Eye, and the EDF Energy London Eye.
