A new one-man show that tackles democratic rule
Part of the National Theatre's drive in 2017/18 to feature equality in voices on stage, Rob Drummond returns to the stage with a brand-new show that explores democracy in a one-man format. Famed for his infamous show Bullet Catch, in which he displayed the most deadly "magic trick" in stage history on a nightly basis, Drummond's new target, forgive the pun, is in fact about politics within democratic society. It may not contain the danger of a bullet catch, but Drummond assures us that it will be thrilling and thoughtworthy!
First appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012, Bullet Catch went on to travel the world to critical praise in 2013, following its world premiere at Glasgow Arches. Exploring magic, history of trickery and notorious stories, it culminated in the hair-raising trick, where audiences were transfixed, albeit with a dark desire to see it go wrong. Now that he moves onto politics, what could possibly be dangerous? Watch this space....
