A comedy with gumption wings its way to London's champion of Off-West End stagecraft The Park Theatre this winter! Winner of the 1998 Pearson Best Play Award, quirky comedy Martha, Josie and The Chinese Elvis celebrates its 21st anniversary at the Finsbury Park venue thanks to expert humour mongers Signal Theatre Company.
The story follows single mother Josie, whose become tired of the harsh winters of her hometown of Bolton, as well as her head-in-the-clouds daughter Brenda-Marie, her obsessively religious cleaner and unorthodox job as a dominatrix. On the eve of her 40th birthday, her favorite client Lionel insists she celebrate, and knowing Josie is a huge fan of the King, Lionel has hired Timothy Wong, Bolton's finest Elvis impersonator... As the hilarious night unfolds, an unexpected guest arrives and ups the ante...
