An extraordinary tale of one woman's fight for the truth.
The tale of Anna Akhmatova, one of the most celebrated poets of her generation, comes to the Park Theatre this season in this scintillating world premiere by Olivia Olsen. Based on true events Stray Dogs shines a spotlight on one extraordinary woman and her battle between fear and truth.
in 1940's Russia Stalin's dictatorship has the whole country gripped in fear. With both her husband and son lost to the regime Anna is plunged into obscurity. But, now the tyrannical leader wants a favour. Re-discovered by philosopher Isiah Berlin, Anna's poetry holds the power to sway the people. Faced with a life-changing decision Anna must decide where her loyalties lie...between life or freedom.
