A world premiere comedy drama from the writer of Peep Show
Kathy Burke makes her directorial debut at the Park Theatre this season, with Sam Bain (Peep Show)'s new play The Retreat, a comedy drama about trying to escape it all - only to find that your past inevitably catches up with you. This world premiere comedy is a satire on the concept of "finding yourself" - especially when you weren't really lost in the first place. We follow Luke, as he moves to highland Scotland from the rat-race in London as a high-powered executive, as he attempts to find out who he is.
Except that he isn't sure that he wants to. Who is the mysterious Tony from his past? Why does Luke blame him for everything going wrong in his life? And could Tony know him better than he knows himself? This retreat may well open up more questions for Luke than answering them!
Doctor Who and former History Boys' Samuel Anderson, Kidulthood's Adam Deacon and Yasmine Akram will star.
