Written and directed by Matthew Campling, Abominations is unfailingly charming and endearing

Why see The Secondary Victim?
A visceral new drama about sexual assault
A new world premiere drama heads to the Park Theatre this December by Matthew Campling, the author behind Abominations. With reports of sexual harassment and assault making the news every day, this timely new play examines what happens to the falsely accused - and in a twist, what happens when the accused is female, and the alleged victim is male. This is the situation that a well-respected psychotherapist finds herself in when she is accused of sexual misconduct by a former patient.
A loving and faithful wife, Ali is dumbstruck by the allegations, which throw her professional career and personal life into a tailspin. Who can she trust? Why has this happened to her? With blame culture on the rise, this visceral depiction of the "secondary victim" - in this case Ali, shows what one must have to endure, and testing their resolve to breaking point.
