Why See Footloose?
The eponymous Eighties' era musical comes to London!
Following its hugely successful UK tour in 2016, Footloose will be arriving in the West End next September for a limited period at the Peacock Theatre! With Gareth Gates and Maureen Nolan reprising their roles for this new engagement, the show is also set to go on international tour in addition to its London run! Based on the 1984 movie that catapaulted Kevin Bacon to stardom, the popular musical has already seen success in the States on tour, and features some of the Eighties' most iconic tunes including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, and Let's Hear It For The Boy. It's time to let loose!
When city teen Ren moves to a small American rural town, he believes that his life is over. However, he is not banking on the fact that the local minister of Bomont has completely outlawed rock music and even dancing! Faced with a boring existence, Ren alleviates his boredom by sneaking into abandoned buildings to dance his heart out. However, it turns out that he's not alone in wanting to change things for the town's teens as he meets Willard (Gates) and Ariel, the minister's daughter and falls in love! But he faces more than just the council's opposition to dance, in the form of Ariel's abusive boyfriend Chuck....
Opening night: 12 September 2017
