One For Sorrow

One For Sorrow at Royal Court Theatre

Why see One For Sorrow?

A world premiere

Twenty-year-old Imogen will do anything to help refugees after an attack on London, even if that does mean inviting a stranger to live in her house, without discussing it with her family first. Soon enough John arrives, but he isn't what they expected, he's different from them and although they'd never admit it, he's not what they wanted.

Described by Vicky Featherstone (Royal Court artistic director) as a 'painfully astute exposé of liberal fear', One For Sorrow will be directed by James Macdonald who specialises in working with new work, and whose previous theatre credits include working with Caryl Churchill and Sarah Kane.
