Why See Katie Melua?
Melua revisits her Georgian roots on her new tour!
The velvety-smooth voice that is Katie Melua is coming to London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane for night only as part of her latest UK tour, celebrating her Georgian roots with the Gori Women's Choir. The prodigious singing talent was picked from obscurity in 2003 by composer Mike Batt with whom she released her first album Call Off The Search, and remains of one of Britain's leading singer/songwriters.
Having released a further five studio albums including 2013ís Ketevan (incidentally her birth name!), Melua has kept close to her Georgian roots, despite moving to Belfast at nine years old following the collapse of the Soviet Union and gaining British citizenship. Her collaboration with the Gori Women's Choir is set to be a magical experience, combining her honey-soft vocals with the celebrated medium of Georgian polyphonic singing, in time for the Christmas season.
Performance date: 27 November 2016
Suitable for ages 7+
