Guy a New Musical

Hyde's idiosyncratic techno-pop score is excellent... haunting ballads are effortlessly fused with original pop anthems to create a genuinely contemporary score that's rich in detail and intricate in its rhythms

Why see Guy a New Musical?
A Brand New Millenial Musical With Heart
From the minds that brought you the Goggle-box inspired opera-musical The Marriage of Kim K comes Guy a New Musical, the delightfully sweet pop-musical confection taking over Battersea's Turbine Theatre for five performances only this spring. Dedicated to creating musicals with unique Millenial soundtracks and stories about human interactions with technology, theatre company Leo&Hyde's latest creation received the Best New Writing and Best Show awards at the Buxton Fringe and Birmingham Fest.
The musical's titular anti-hero is compassionate, overweight, a little nerdy and painfully shy. To top it off, he doesn't feel as if he fits within the gay community. When one rejection too many on Grindr pushes Guy to make a few terrible life choices, he must come face to face with prejudice, unfair beauty standards, bingeing, hookups and identity theft. Set to an upbeat electro-pop score, the ambitious and heartfelt musical makes for a fun night out for all those who've struggled with the online dating scene themselves...
