Jefferson Turner plays the perfect straight man to Daniel Clarkson's silliness in this wonderful modern day example of classic farce.
Edinburgh Spotlight
Olivier nominees Dan and Jeff are back with a brand-new theme that promises to take Sherlock fans through all 60 of Arthur Conan-Doyle's stories in 70 thrilling, high-octane minutes! Following on from their phenomenal international success Potted Potter, now everybody's favourite detective gets his own high-speed treatment, in a show straight from this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival.Taking full advantage of the nation's craze for all things Sherlock and Benedict Cumberbatch, the boys are joined by a third player in the latest installment of their Potted series of shows.
This high-octane, barrel of laughs compilation of Holmes' 60-odd cases highlights the sensitivities, the frankly odd attitudes, and dodgy science that Doyle made use of whilst penning his original stories. The boys show no mercy as they point out the various plotholes, riff on how many times Holmes has defeated death, and also the antiquated values of Victorian London held for women - often painted as villainous, prone to fainting or in the case of Watson's first wife, simply dies without an explanation! It's played for laughs, but not without more than a sly wink and a nod to understanding adults. And watch out for the references to Martin and Benedict!
This time, they are joined by multi-talented actress Lizzie Wort who has previously starred in children's theatre as well as a beguiling Marilyn in one-woman play, "The Unremarkable Death Of Marilyn Monroe". The boys themselves celebrate 10 years of working partnership in 2015, long may they continue!
