Stepping Out

Stepping Out at Vaudeville Theatre

Why see Stepping Out?

A British star invastion!

A whole host of British stage and screen stars including Amanda Holden, Nicola Stephenson and Natalie CASEY join forces in this funny and heartwarming play all about putting your best foot forward! Seven women and one man try to escape their myriad problems once a week at their evening tap dance class. Maria Friedman directs Richard Harris' 1984 play that explores interpersonal relationships and the ways we try to combat our problems.

Like many evening classes the students start their tap lessons as if it is just a social occasion, without much enthusiasm with the classes. Despite at first showing little co-ordination, they later develop a high level of skill and cohesion together, as the bonds between them strengthen. We watch our motley crew of characters struggle and later fly through the dance routines that form the basis of the play as they evolve and conquer their demons.
