From high up in his tower, The Giant watches over his beloved garden, frozen in perpetual winter since he stopped local children playing in it. But one boy finds a way in, and a way to melt the old meanie's heart.
Included in Wilde's Happy Prince and Other Stories anthology, the tale of the Selfish Giant is given life anew in this folk-opera adaptation from Ivor Novello winner Guy Chambers and director Bill Buckhurst whose immersive Pie and Mash shop set Sweeney Todd is currently playing on Broadway.
Bringing the musicians onto the stage, this unique concert experience is another marvellous addition to Classic Spring Theatre Company's year long Wilde season, celebrating the work and legacy of one of literature's most famous voices.
