Cabaret leads the way in 2022's Olivier Awards!

Author WendyWendy, March 9th, 2022

The acclaimed revival leads the way this awards season garnering 11 Olivier nominations!

Amongst its 11 nominations are nods to Eddie Redmayne for his role as Emcee, Jessie Buckley for her lead role as Sally Bowles, Tom Scutt's costume design as well as his scenic design, and Julia Cheng's choreography. Two supporting actor/actress nominations are also included, making Cabaret one of two shows with a nomination in all four cast categories this year, a privilege it shares with Anything Goes.

Of course, the question everyone wants answered is who will win the coveted title of Best Musical Revival. Competition is especially tough this year in this category, with Cabaret going head-to-head with a critically acclaimed production of Anything Goes which starred Broadway darling Sutton Foster. Spring Awakening rounds out the nominations in this category.

Another exciting category we're keeping our eye on is Best Musical. Here some titans of the West End will battle it out to be crowned 2022's winner. This includes Frozen, Moulin Rouge!, and Back To The Future. All hugely popular with audiences and unique in their own way. It's going to be a very interesting ceremony this year - stay tuned on April 10th to find out who walks away with a trophy!
