The Tony Winning Drama is back on stage in London
BAFTA, Primetime Emmy, and Golden Globe-nominated actor Hugh Bonneville stars as beloved author C.S. Lewis, the man behind The Chronicles of Narnia. His quiet, middle-aged academic life at Oxford is turned upside down when he meets Joy Davidman, an American poet who challenges his beliefs and transforms his world forever - and may just be the force that turns Lewis from a distant intellect into someone deeply vulnerable. A beautifully etched portrait of grief and faith, it also offers a glimpse into the world of one of our most famous writers.
Written by William Nicholson, Shadowlands began life as a BAFTA Award-winning TV drama before becoming a critically lauded stage play - winning the Evening Standard Award for Best Play and later a Tony Award on Broadway. It was also adapted into the acclaimed 1993 film directed by Richard Attenborough, starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger, which went on to win the BAFTA for Outstanding British Film.
