Headlong return with their take on Shakespeare's ruthless car park King
Celebrated for their fresh approach and commitment to fostering the best young talents in theatre, Headlong are back this year with their take on Shakespeare's re-telling of the machinations of Richard III, the last reigning monarch of the House of York, and his bloodied path to the crown. Starring Tom Mothersdale as everyone's favourite car park King, let the innovative company plunge you into a world of deceit, manipulation, patricide, war, and did we mention blood?
Richard III was written around 1593 and through the ages, has come to be regarded as one of the Bard's finest plays. Whilst its accuracy is up for debate, it is a masterpiece in its depiction of one man on a singular and ruthless mission to gain power, and how not even familial ties, youth, love or kindness will stop him.
