Olivier Award winner Sam Grabiner brings new comedy to the Almeida this Christmas
Olivier Award winning writer Sam Grabiner (Boys on the Verge of Tears) brings this ferocious new comedy to the Almeida Theatre this winter, as part of Rupert Goold's final season. Focusing on a Jewish family in London on Christmas Day, this world premiere will be directed by James Macdonald. Watch out - this seasonal play has a hell of a bite.
Christmas is a time to be with the family. Not normally in an abandoned building, though. In a strange, deserted space near the Northern line, surrounded by nothing but prowling foxes, a Jewish family gathers together on Christmas Day. Who knows what will happen next. This brutally dark comedy explores themes of identity and belonging, and the power of the rituals we share with those closest to us. This will be a Christmas Day like no other.
