Attention
The thrilling queer play where no two nights are the same
The thrilling queer play where no two nights are the same
Co-created by Bruntwood Prize-shortlistee Georgia Bruce and director Jules Head, Attention comes to the London stage following a Dublin Fringe run that earned seven award nominations, including nods for Best Production and the Radical Spirit Award. The play is built on a unique, live-game structure where the performers determine the scene flow in real time, restarting, pausing, or skipping ahead at will, creating an unpredictable production which changes every single night. Returning to their original roles, actors Blaithin Mac Gabhann and Norah Lopez Holden bring their chemistry to this uniquely brilliant play once more.
Attention takes an intimate, unflinching and unique look at a long-term queer relationship, framing love not as a passive state, but as a deliberate act of joint labour. Across seven years together, two people have repeatedly stepped into the arena to negotiate that labour. Today they do it all over again. As the performers test the boundaries of their dynamic through improvisational elements live on stage, Attention explores the physical and emotional cost of keeping focus on another person.
Please note: The producers can't guarantee the appearance of any performers on any specific date.
