Felicity Huffman makes her UK stage debut in this Park Theatre revival!
First premiering at New York's Playwright Horizons in 2015, this comedy-drama will leave your jaw hanging in disbelief, and your ribs aching from guilty laughter, as Taylor Mac's outrageous and uproarious black comedy takes on the dysfunctional family theme. Starring Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives) making her UK stage debut, this new revival is directed by Steven Kunis and includes Steffan Cennydd, Thalia Dudek, and Simon Startin among the cast.
What is the story?
The story follows Issac, recently discharged from the US Marines, who finds out that a new war has broken out - under his own roof. His mother Paige has decided not to care for his father anymore, and has turned their decades-old routine completely on its head. His sister Maxine, has transitioned into a man called Max, and his father has tumbled from the glory of being main breadwinner into a pitiful, clown-faced invalid. It's family dysfunction at it's most raw, shocking - and funny as hell.
