Dark of the Moon

A must-see
Why see Dark of the Moon?
Bluegrass Musical
Dark of the Moon breathes new life into the stage play by Howard D. Richardson and William Berney, reimagining it as a musical with a bluegrass and country rock score! With a book by Jonathan Prince and music from the songwriting trio of Lindy Robbins, Dave Bassett and Steve Robson, the production is directed by Georgie Rankcom and choreographed by Jane McMurtrie. Dark of the Moon is a story of love, witchcraft and the claustrophobia of a small-town mindsets and prejudices, set in the ruggedly beautiful Appalachian mountains.
What is the story?
John is a restless "witch-boy" who is desperate to experience the human world. His fixation leads him to Barbara Allen, a girl from a nearby rural town, steeped in tradition and deep-seated superstitions. As the pair attempt to bridge the gap between their polarized communities, they are forced to confront the prejudices of the locals and the ancient, supernatural laws of the mountain heights.
