Why see Redcliffe?

A True Story of Forbidden Romance

The critically acclaimed performer and writer Jordan Luke Gage returns to star in the West End transfer of his astounding new musical, following a sold-out run at Southwark Playhouse Borough next Spring. Inspired by a heart-pounding true story of forbidden love in 18th-century Bristol, Redcliffe features music, lyrics, and book all written by Gage. Don't miss out on this extraordinary new British musical.

What Is The Story?

It's the middle of the 18th century, and in a corner of Bristol, William Critchard's life is about to turn on its head. He has a thoroughly unexpected meeting with charming young sailor Richard Arnold, kindling the beginnings of a relationship that will change both men and in a time when being gay meant severe persecution, will put them both in grave danger.
