The Tony-winning play by Brian Friel

Directed by Lyndsay Turner, Brian Friel's Tony Award-winning play is revived at the Donmar and tells the story in four monologues of faith healer Frank Hardy, who travelled the darkest corners of Britain, offering redemption to those in need. However, behind the scenes all is not well. His supposed gift has caused a rift between him and his wife, as well as his manager. As each character offers their counterpoint to the story, a tragic pattern emerges.

Now in its 11th revival, the play explores the fine line between genius and failure, told in four parts by Hardy himself, his wife Grace and his manager Teddy. When failure is the only path available, Hardy faces a devastating reality as the enraged villagers take out their own brand of revenge on him for their ruined beliefs.
