Why see Buddy The Musical?
THE MAN, THE MUSIC, THE LEGEND
Dubbed "the world's most successful Rock'n'Roll musical", Buddy The Musical has travelled the globe, been seen by over 20 million people and received two Olivier award nominations. Written by Alan Janes and Rob Bettinson, who produce and direct the production respectively, Buddy is based on the true story of Buddy Holly and his tragically short life.
The musical follows the young musician and his band The Crickets from their first recording contract in Nashville, through Buddy's blossoming relationship with Maria Elena, to his move to New York and concludes with that fateful tour which ended when their plane crashed, killing all on board.
The rock 'n'roll extravaganza features some of Buddy Holly's greatest hits, including 'That'll Be The Day', 'Peggy Sue', 'Oh Boy', 'Rave On', 'Heartbeat', 'Raining In My Heart' and many more.
The London cast for Buddy the Musical includes Dean Elliott as 'Buddy' (at certain performances), Matthew Wycliffe as 'Buddy' (at certain performances), Lucia Rovardi as 'Maria Elena', Miguel Angel as 'Richie Valens' and Lee Ormsby as 'Big Bopper'.
