EastEnders royalty Tamzin Outhwaite stars in this revival of Mike Leigh's satirical class comedy, making its West End premiere at London's Harold Pinter Theatre in August 2026! Set amidst a drinks party in 1970s Essex that starts to unravel into disaster, Abigail's Party is a razor-sharp dissection of class conflict and the unspoken rules of 'polite society'.
Beverley is the undisputed ruler of her suburban neighbourhood. So when new arrivals Angela and Tony pop up, she swiftly gets them round for welcome drinks, along with divorcee Sue - whose daughter Abigail is busy having a party of her own. As drinks are downed and boundaries blur, inter-marital flirtations start to creep in - causing a whole host of repressed tensions to bubble to the surface and into the open. How will these 'friendly drinks' end - and what exactly is Abigail up to next door?
