Jack and The Beanstalk

Jack and The Beanstalk at Kings Head Theatre

Why see Jack and The Beanstalk?

Panto Season!

FEE-FI-FO-FUM we smell a panto bubbling with fun! The panto classic Jack and the Beanstalk comes to Islington this year with more laughs, lavish costumes, and a local twist to the tale! In Christmas 2025 get ready to embark on a magical adventure with a generous helping of whipped cream for this year's giant Islington pantomime!

What Is The Story?

Jack and the Beanstalk gets a fresh, frothy makeover in this udderly ridiculous retelling set right here in Islington. Jack's a young milkman helping out on his mum's struggling dairy, just off Udder Street. Times are tough, and with the last cow giving up the ghost, Jack is sent to market to sell her off and save the farm. But instead of coming back with hard cash, Jack returns with nothing but a handful of so-called magic beans. His mum is furious and flings them out the window, but that night something incredible happens: a towering beanstalk bursts through the pavement, stretching high above the North London skyline. Up Jack climbs, whipped cream canister at the ready, and finds himself in the sky-high lair of a not-so-friendly Giant! With Islington in danger, expect laughs, boos, cheers, and a few cries of "he's behind you!". Perfect for kids and big kids alike!

Not for the kids - so just take them to a traditional panto

This was my first palladium Panto but I had heard much about them - definitely more of an adult Panto, than the traditional "he's behind you nonsense," and it didn't disappoint. If you have sense of humour, you'll love it - if you don't or are one of those easily offended soft type, don't go.. it's too much fun for you, sorry. :) ... Read more

Wonderful

What a fantastic way to get into the Christmas Spirit. Julian Clary already had his fellow actors ( along with all the audience) laughing. The scenery, costumes and lighting are spectacular and the beanstalk is an unexpected addition. If you can get to see this panto you won’t regret it- haven’t laughed so much for a long while. ...
