Musik
Don't miss the outrageous one-woman show starring Frances Barber
...it's Barber's show. She captures Billie's vulnerability and cruelty as she prowls on stage and belts out songs with conviction.

Fresh from its debut, sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019, Musik is a whirlwind one-woman show about the life and outrageous times of fictional rock icon Billie Trix. Based on the Pet Shop Boys fully-fledged musical Closer To Heaven, the cabaret show features a book by Jonathan Harvey and music by the band, performed by Olivier Award-nominated English actress Frances Barber.
Barber portrays Trix, a streetwise music maker, mover and shaker born Hildegard in the postwar ruins of 1945 Berlin and raised in New Tork City. Falling in love with the music of Nico and the Andy Warhol set, she took the pop art legend's advice and changed her name to Billie, becoming a Zelig-like figure in modern-day counter culture whilst penning her own songs. Trix regales the audience with off-the-wall tales of excess, drug addiction and her time as a silver screen actress (amongst other yarns), flitting between story and song like a veteran.
