Rudyard Kiplings classic comes to the National Theatre
The National Theatre's artistic director Indhu Rubasingham directs the Kipling family classic The Jungle Book in a new adaptation by Anupama Chadrasekhar (The Father and the Assassin)! A joyful romp through the jungle with Mowgli and friends featuring delightful puppetry by masters of puppets Finn Caldwell (Shrek - The Musical; War Horse) and Nick Barnes (The Life of Pi; The Lorax), expect colour, music and a transformed Olivier Theatre in this timeless tale of courage!
Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli the man-cub meets his match in Shere Khan, a lame tiger that has hunted him ever since Mother and Father Wolf took him into their tribe. With the help of his guardians Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, Mowgli learns the lore of the jungle whilst coming of age in the shadow of his fearsome feline arch-nemesis.
