An Explosive Family Reunion

Starring Tony Award winner Lesley Manville and Anna Maxwell Martin!

One of the greatest American plays of its generation returns to London after nearly twenty years! First staged in Chicago in 2007 before arriving at the National Theatre in London the following year, and later adapted into a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep, Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning searing family drama comes to the Noel Coward Theatre, directed by Jeremy Herrin (whose credits include Every Brilliant Thing, People, Places and Things and Wolf Hall).

What's The Story?

When patriarch Beverly Weston goes missing from his rural Oklahoma home, the Weston family is brought together for the first time in years. His three daughters return to face their sharp-tongued mother Violet, whose struggles with addiction and illness have long impacted the family. As tensions increase over the course of a few difficult days, buried secrets, old resentments and painful memories force the family to confront what they have tried for so long to bury.

Lesley Manville takes on the role of Violet following her Tony Award-winning performance in Oedipus, while Anna Maxwell Martin plays her daughter Barbara Fordham.
