Why see Just For One Day?

West End Transfer!

We can be us, just for one day

The enduring appeal of Live Aid will be tapped once more as this new Olivier-nominated jukebox musical transfers to to the Shaftesbury Theatre after a sell out run at the Old Vic. Just For One Day gives audiences a look behind the scenes of the auspicious event and features a soundtrack by Matt Brind that covers the day's biggest artists, including Queen, David Bowie, Elton John, U2, The Boomtown Rats, Diana Ross and many, many more.

Written by John O'Farrel (Mrs Doutfire) and directed by Luke Sheppard (&Juliet) Just For One Day also contributes to the Band Aid Trust's mission, with 10% of every ticket sale going to their ongoing charitable work, both globally and here at home.

July 13th, 1985

With thousands packed into Wembley Stadium, and across the pond in Philadelphia's JFK Stadium, and millions more tuning in on TV or Radio, this sunny summer day became one of the most incredible in music history. 70 artists took to both stages across 16 hours, playing their hits, raising an incredible 127,000,000 (nearly 5m in today's money) for charity. Those old enough to remember (and maybe even lucky enough to be there) will always remember it, and for those younger, the day's historical significance has been explored in movies and TV, most recently as the last brilliant 10 minutes of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Thoroughly Entertaining

Went to this show yesterday with my daughter and had a fantastic afternoon. Can’t remember when I’ve ever experienced so many talented singers/dancers/actors on one stage. Where do they find all this talent? Highly recommended ... Read more

Just for one day .....what a show

We purchased tickets for a preview show. We had seats in the front row of the circle. These were side view seats and we couldn't see the stage directly under us but it didn't matter one bit. Generally, all that was happening was dialogue and not necessarily action. The music was fantastic with so much energy being generated from every member of the cast. We did not stop tapping our toes and clapping our hands along with the music. WE LOVED IT FROM START TO END. What a great reminder of a great day back in 1985 ... Read more
