Why see A Midsummer Night's Dream?

Though She Be But Litte, She Is Fierce!

'Tis the season for Shakespeare as Dominic Hill heads to the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre to direct a brand new production of the Shakespearian classic, A Midsummer Night's Dream. As one of the Bard's greatest comedies, A Midsummer Night's Dream blends magic with mischief to create a legendary comedy, perfect for new-comers and die-hard Shakespeare fans alike.

Following four lovers as they head into a mystical and magical forest where fairies play in the shadows and all is not as it seems, A Midsummer Night's Dream explores desire, confusion, jealousy and growing-up. With a string of sub-plots, mistaken identities and one donkey, this Shakespearian classic gets a 2019 twist with live music in a stunning outdoor setting.

A Midsummer Nights Dream

Amazing production with an incredible cast. Highly accessible with the delivery of original Shakespearean language in a modern way. Great comic moments with exceptional performances from Oberon (Padraic Delaney), Puck (Gavin Fowler)and Helena (Katherine Kingsley). Walliams and Shaw are of course a delight, but all of the cast really do give wonderful performances and should be noted. As someone who isn't a big theatre fan, I was happily surprised at how much I enjoyed it. ... Read more

THE BEST NIGHT AT THE THEATRE I'VE HAD FOR YEARS

What a scintillating performance. What a great night out. Sure, there are critics but with its modern spin, this performance certainly makes Shakespeare more accessible and entertaining. Sheridan Smith and David Walliams are fantastic. The performance of the entire cast was flawless and captivating. I absolutely loved it. If you're reading this review and wondering whether to go, then I'd recommend you go and see this play as soon as you can. It's remarkable! ... Read more
