A Bold New Love Story Transfers To London

Following its critically acclaimed world premiere at New York's Public Theater in 2018, Tony nominee Martin Sherman's deeply moving new drama enjoys an Off-West End transfer at the Park Theatre in early 2019. Original director and fellow Tony nominee Shaun Mathias returns to helm the month-long run, bringing the love story between older expat pianist Beau and eclectic young lawyer Rufus to the stage with tenderness, openness and a deep respect for the history of gay rights and the LGBQT movement.

Beau and Rufus meet on an online dating site. At odds with the fast-paced lifestyles of his contemporaries, 28 year old Rufus finds a kindred old soul in Beau, a pianist who accompanied one of Rufus' favorite old school cabaret singers in her prime. Determined to manage his expectations, Beau tries to stays behind by the emotional walls he built during a lifetime of societal repression, but what flourishes between them turns into a surprising and defining love story of our rapidly changing times.
