Shining a spotlight on one of the Holocaust's greatest mysteries, British theatre maker A. Bodin Saphir presents the compelling world premiere of Rosenbaum's Rescue at London's Park Theatre this winter. Weaving together the story of two childhood friends and the miraculous rescue of almost ten thousand Jewish refugees from Nazi-occupied Denmark, the heavy-hitting historical drama is a moving portrait of resilience and hope, brimming with intrigue and moving moments.
Traversing parallel timelines, Saphir's story begins on the Danish coast in 2001, where old friends Lars and Abraham reunite in an attempt to defuse past tensions. Lars is obsessed with finding out who exactly was responsible for the tip-off that led to the flight of the Danish Jews in October 1943, which causes difficult memories and a long-forgotten secret to resurface for Abraham, testing faith and friendship, and pitting fact against fiction.
