Visual marvels tumble over each other without let-up: a privately erotic pas de deux, an acrobatic, dreamy episode for two high up a rope, some fluidly lyrical juggling with full beer glasses, and an ending of apocalyptic horror that leaves one's nerves

Twenty-five years ago DV8 Physical Theatre and acclaimed dance master Lloyd Newson presented the world a stark exploration of masculinity in Enter Achilles. The groundbreaking physical-theatre piece is back, reworked in a collaboration between Rambert and Sadler's Wells, and is more poignant and topical than ever.
Set in the very temple of machismo, a British Pub, Enter Achilles collides breathtakingly physical dance with violence and the hidden vulnerability of manliness. Whirling and spinning as pop songs tumble from the jukebox, eight dancers turn male body language into a hypnotic, tribal dance. Casual friendliness soon gives way to disparity, suppressed desires and an apocalyptic finale.
