Why see A Midsummer Night's Dream?
Enchanting Classic!
For the first time ever, one of William Shakespeare's greatest comedies is staged at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, directed by Holly Race Roughan with Naeem Hayat! The tale of an enchanted forest full of fairy folk and the unsuspecting mortals who stumble into it is a brilliant example of the height of Shakespeare's comedy all wrapped up in the universal theme of love and the complications that are bound to come with it. Don't miss it!
What Is The Story?
A Midsummer Night's Dream follows the trials of two couples as they camp in a magical forest, the world of the fairy King and Queen who inhabit said forest, and a group of tradesmen attempting to stage a production of 'Pyramus and Thisbe' for the wedding of the Duke of Athens. In true Shakespearean comedy style, these stories don't stay separated for long and worlds collide in a spectacularly hilarious fashion. Love, action, magic, and comedy mix to create a truly magical spell.
