Paddington: The Musical made its eagerly awaited debut in 2025, bringing Michael Bond's timeless tale of the iconic bear from deepest darkest Peru - a true British national treasure - to the London stage now. The production has since dominated the Olivier Awards, bringing home seven wins, including Best New Musical!
With original music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher of McFly and a book by Olivier-award winning playwright Jessica Swale (Nell Gwyn, Stig of the Dump) and directed by Olivier Award nominee Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, In the Heights), the show reimagines Paddington's journey from his homeland to the heart of London, drawing inspiration from the treasured books and smash hit films that made us all fall in love with the marmalade loving bear.
Did You Know?
Paddington first appeared in A Bear Called Paddington in 1958, written by Michael Bond, and has since starred in over 20 books, translated into more than 40 languages. He's the nation's grand-bear!
The name Paddington comes from the London train station where the Brown family first found him. Tired of the same old commute? Stop off and see his statue!
Paddington's love of marmalade isn't just a quirky trait - it's become a symbol of his charm, with fans around the world sending jars of marmalade to 32 Windsor Gardens.
Paddington always wears his tag that reads: "Please look after this bear. Thank you." It's inspired by evacuee children during WWII.
Paddington's voice in the hit films is provided by actor Ben Whishaw, who also plays Q in the James Bond series - talk about bear-illiant range!

Utterly Joyful from Start to Finish!
Paddington the Musical at the Savoy Theatre is a total delight. From the opening number it knows exactly what it is: warm, funny, surprisingly slick and completely true to the bear at its centre. The staging is inventive, the London setting is beautifully done, and the show keeps finding little visual gags that land every time.
What really sells it is the tone. It’s kind without being sugary, witty without being arch, and it moves at just the right pace. The score is bright and memorable, the cast lean into the humour, and by the end it feels like the whole audience has been in on something quietly special.

Alchemy
Tonight I witnessed a little bit of magic in the form of Paddington the musical. Being an older lady, Paddington has been in my life for nearly 50 years. I didn't actually realise how much he meant to me until he came to life on that stage. A little bit of Alchemy took place between people and imagination. Growing up was not easy for me in my household and I'd let go of that precious little bit of childhood magic we all need to keep tucked away in our memory. Tonight that connection to my inner child was rekindled and I took an emotional journey into my past. Laughed, cried and remembered to be kind to myself. Incredible show and staff
It was such an incredible show,from start to finish .We both loved it.Thanks to all of the cast.It was an all round family show.I wanted too thank the staff from tge theatre as nothing was too much trouble. I am disabled but can get up and down stairs slowly and we were take the back way with less steps with a lovely lady with dark hair on 23th May 6.30. We were also escorted out kindly by a happy chatty young man with fair hair who walked us up too the top of tge road as we didnt have a clue where we were going.It was an all round brilluant experience. ...
