Sam Simmons: Away in a Stranger
Christmas is about to get very weird under the surreal machinations of award-winning comedian Sam Simmons

If the thought of attending another Nutcracker Ballet leaves you feeling cold and pantomimes make you want to say 'Bah Humbug' to festive entertainment and all of its syrupy, over commercialised trappings, then perhaps this is just the ticket for you... Blow a raspberry to the holidays and prepare to chuckle 'till your sides ache at Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Sam Simmon's Away In A Stranger alternative comedy Christmas show.
One of the most original and dependable regulars of the Fringe festival, Simmons trains in off-the-wall, surrealist comedy in the style of Mighty Boosh pioneer Noel Fielding. No ordinary everyday situation is safe from his quirky eye, so you can imagine Christmas is about to be turned upside down and inside out, as well stretched into alternate dimensions! The comedian invites audiences to stick a biro in a sausage and raise a mug of hot yoghurt to Greg this Gregmas, with assurances that Gregs change nightly, keeping things evermore absurd. Clever, belligerent and absolutely bonkers, Simmons' comedy needs to be seen to be believed!
